Tribute to Ms. Amina Bouayach on the occasion of International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Higher School of Journalism and Communication in Casablanca, Morocco, paid tribute to Ms. Amina Bouayach, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) on Thursday 16 March 2023.

Mr. Mounir Bensalah, CNDH Secretary-General received the award on behalf of the CNDH Chairperson.

Within this context, he highlighted that paying tribute to Ms. Bouayach is a moment of recognizing the excellence of her career path and her efforts made to protect and promote human rights.

CNDH Secretary General underlined that the 2011 Constitution enabled the adoption of several legal texts that enshrined the principle of parity and the promotion of women's rights in various fields.However, more efforts to be made to ensure the effectiveness of their human rights in reality, he added. In this regard, Mr. Bensalah recalled the contents of the CNDH report on denouncing violence against women and girls and combating impunity. He called on students to further approach this issue in the media.

This ceremony was also an occasion to pay tribute to several women whose work marked various fields, including politics, economics, art, sports and media.
