CCDH PRESIDENT IN A TV SHOW ON THE SETTLEMENT OF PAST HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN MOROCCO AND GERMANY
President of the Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH), Mr. Ahmed Herzenni, participated in November 2010 in Berlin, in a TV show on the settlement of past human rights violations in Morocco and Germany. This TV show was broadcasted by the 1st Moroccan Channel in cooperation with Deutsche Welle (DW).
In addition to Mr. Herzenni, Dr. Ilko-Sacha Kowalcuk, historian and researcher in a special committee in charge of the files of the Ministry of Home Security in former West Germany, participated in the show as well. The show shed light on the experience of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission in Morocco and the experience of Germany in handling the files of the Ministry of Home Security in former West Germany. It dealt as well with the issue of the contemporary history.
In this visit to Germany, Mr. Herzenni met with Günter Nooke, Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid, and Marcus Loening, member of the Socialist Democratic Party and the Maghreb Group in the Bundestag (parliament of Germany).
During these meetings CCDH President discussed with the two officials the process of strengthening democracy and human rights in Morocco, the settlement of the past grave human rights violations, the institutional and legislative reforms launched by the Kingdom of Morocco, the Moroccan Sahara issue and the events of Laayoune…
